handgun glock prices

Glocks are twice the price of the 12Ga.870 shotgun and money saved should go for food. It takes lots of practice to get good with the Glock or any hangun, and with a shotgun, a less than well placed shot, will be more effective. ...Replacement barrels can be found at Wolf Distr for just over a hundred bucks each, so for the price of the gun + $250, you have three guns! That said, if you want to use it for target shooting, you will want to make a few mods to the Glock. ... I say this as a gun dealer and a tactical firearms instructor with years of experience. There are many fine weapons out there that do not cost as much as a Glock. Taurus are very fine weapons, don't cost as much, and have excellent ...Since you already have the Glock, the XD is probably too close to your existing gun If you like how your Glock feels in the hand, you probably won't like the XD (most shooters strongly favor one over the other). ...i don't know much about the kahr, shot some, but never own any. but a break in period has all ways been a deal breaker for me when i pay a high price for a hand gun. now i have a g26 and it did not need a break in period. it ran right ...For example, anyone who says “Glocks suck!” is either joking, doesn't know anything about guns, or is a “gun snob” who drops $3000 on pistols and thinks that anything that cost less is garbage, regardless of how many cops use them. .... All three are ABOUT the same price (as of September 2009, the XD is the least expensive at $459 or so if you shop around…the Glock c. $500…M&P c. $550). Some people rip on polymer guns, but they are light, usually relatively inexpensive, ...Glock will also sell to LEO & Military (and certain other "service" occupations like fireman, etc.) at basically $100 off list price. You have to get the gun from a Glock LE dealer and you can find one in your area by calling Glock. ...I worked in a gun shop during the 1st gulf war(Nay vet.),had at least 8 guys buy real handguns for personal weapons instead of m-9(3 Ruger revolvers(.357/.44 mag.) and and 3 Glocks(9mm/.45) and 1 Colt (.45) 1 S&W(.44 mag. ..... Instead of just running a competion for a sevice pistol of certain dimensions ,calibre and price and then select the most reliable one.No that would be to easy why not blow it from the start. Why would anyone that never uses a gun need modular gun ...I have decided to buy a glock 17 for protection and occasional range shooting. I was just wondering how much I should pay and what is a good price. I have seen. ... On the Internet I did see company in the USA that would do the import paperwork to ship a gun to the Philippines. I did not check the price. If it is like other products shipped to the Philippines there will be a 100 percent customs duty on it. So your $ 500. becomes $ 1000. That would be in addition to the ...One product has 20 Rounds of milk chocolate bullets in .50 caliber size. Each chocolate ammo tin measures 5"L x 3.5"W x 3.5"H. Price: $12.99. I was just wondering what their Glock prices are like, or basically any gun price in comparison to smaller stores. ...
I'm thinking about buying a Glock 20 in 10mm auto, and i want to know if it is really hard to find this ammo? I've read somewhere that some people were not recommending a 10mm gun because of price of ammo and it being hard to find, but is that really true?

Also i would like to know, is the Glock 20 the best 10mm handgun, or is there anything better in 10mm?

I'm most interested in these ten. I am looking for something that carries at least 15 rounds, is lightweight, easy to conceal, and is made of excellent quality for a price that won't make me go broke.
Please rank from best to worst.

1. Glock-19
2. FNP-9
3. Sig P-250
4. Springfield XD-9
5. Ruger SR-9
6. Walther PPS
7. Smith & Wesson M&P-9
8. Taurus 24/7 PRO
9. Beretta 92fs
10. Beretta Px4 Storm
Which is most accurate

I'm looking into picking up a used gun in good condition, but I'm curious what type of money I should expect to pay as a percent of the new price. I like the Glock 23, which this place sells new for $550, what would a used one go for?

I am going to be traveling a lot and would like a bit better protection for me and my lady.I am looking for some info on how much I should and should not pay for a used glock.Preferably a 45.

Im fairly familiar with handguns, used them im the past but Ive been looking at purchasing one for myself. Mainly be for home defense and to take to the range from time to time, Ive been interested in the Glock 19, only thing holding holding me back is price, im trying to find a suitable alternative for around $400 or less and have been looking at the S&W Sigmas and the Taurus 24/7. Ive heard mixed reviews on the Sigmas from very reliable to not at all and almost everyone says they have a hard trigger pull, on the 24/7s Ive heard mostly good things except there is a common problem with the safety, any advice? Knowing me I'll probably end up just coughing up the extra couple hundred bucks and go with the glock but how do these 2 stack up against the Glock as far as reliability, ease of use and maintenance?

I am looking (FINALLY) to purchase my nest weapon. Now that I live in a carrying state I would like to purchase a good carry weapon. I currently carry a full size S&W 9mm. There are three viable options that I am looking at:
S&W M&P 40 cal
Springfield XD9 40 cal
Glock 27 40 cal
All are compact models. I just looked at the S&W today and really like it. All are about the same price, I just do not konw which to buy. Can anyone provide some feedback on any of these weapons and help me make my choice? I appreciate it!

I am about to purchase my first semi auto handgun. I have decided on a caliber .9mm. I have also narrowed it down to a few gun makers based on price, they way the shoot, and the way they felt in my hand. They are springfield xd, glock , or S&W. I have heard negative reviews about semi auto S&W's. I need something thats going to be reliable and easy to maintain. Any honest opinions will be much appreciated.

I'm in the market for a green gas, blowback, Glock style handgun. From what I understand, with an ABS or strenghtened plastic slide the life of the pistol, slide cycle rate, and overall workings will be increased. Now, I dont want to hear your opinion on the subject of metal or plastic slides...just some word on what you think the best plastic slide handgun is. My max price will be $160 at the very most.

Thank you!

[Prefered]
-Plastic Slide
-Single shot only (no auto)
-Green gas
-Blowback
-Good, reliable brand

Dmitri, your help would be greatly appreciated!
Well how about an aluminum or somekind of lightweight slide? I've had too many gas blowbacks that sucked because the slide was heavy.
KJW 1911
TM M9 Tac Master
WE Full Metal M9
After all these broke (I take really good care of my guns, but they all just started jamming or the seals would break, etc.) I just stuck to using a more reliable but less powerful electric pistol.

I am looking to buy my first hand gun. I would like the price to be somewhere in the $500 region. I want a semi-auto, not revolver. I was thinking about the Glock or Barreta but all suggestions will be appreciated. Caliber I was thinking 9mm but not locked in. Also I am planning on practicing about once a week if that is a factor in the gun.

I currently have a 9 mm handgun (glock 19) for home defense. I'm thinking about passing on the 9 mm to wifey and get myself another gun (for home defence).

What would be the next best caliber for a concealed / carry type handgun after 9 mm?

I'm looking for better stopping power (more than a 9 mm) but ammo price should be reasonable too (especially the FMJ types for practice )

Would a 40 caliber be a good compromise of stopping power, ammo cost and recoil? Or should I just get another 9 mm?

Thanks
I understand the best HD gun is a shotgun and do I have a 870.

Also also I'm not interested in a revolver.

What size pistol would you recommned for my first one? Also, what's a good company / model.

I'm in the US military and have only handled a GI 9mm and .45. And it was only a couple times. Those were my only experiences with a handgun.

I was looking at a couple 1911's from Springfield and Tauras and Glock.
These are just ones that i like by looks. Still have to take a second to feel it also. And a .40 from Springfield XDm.

Also, my price range is up to about $800 US.

Just want to know if anyone has any good thoughts for me?
Also, this is just for a recreational use. Not concealment or anything. Just something to have fun with on the weekends.

Ok first, I just turn 18, Im wondering which pistol is probably the best as a starter. I would like your sources if you said it yourself, perhaps your own article. I Have to tell you that I live in Canada where the US DOD Export demands we pay $750 for any gun parts; including the $15 recoil spring. As such the prices would be higher. If you NEVER shot the multi gun in the same caliber, 9mm or .45ACP version plz don't put comment.

The choice I have done research on are: (All in 40S&W)
Heckler & Koch USP (Custom Sport):---$1163
Glock 22---$750
Sig P226R---$1046
Walther P99--$1040
*Note price is not really a factor to be honest

I dislike the 1911 type of handgun to be honest, and I really do not want any Norcino brand gun. (I dont like PRC nor Product of PRC)

What I'm looking for is:
*Accuracy
*Reliability
*Durability
*Ease of maintaince and use

I saw the $60 Glock "large" range bag at my local shooting range (its under lifestyle--accessories-->#6 on Glock's Website). It holds 4 handguns in attached zippered and padded sleeves with space in the middle for ammo boxes, ear protection, etc. On the outside its got some extra pockets for whatever, and one with an elastic tied to the inside of the pocket to hold magazines. I've read online that the "logo" stuff (bags produced by the manufacturers of handguns such as Glock and S&W) are usually lower quality, so I want to avoid them. But I am having trouble finding something to replace it. Most forums say "I own this one, its great!" which is not very helpful.

What I am looking for is a suggestion for a range bag that is medium sized (about the size of a typical carry-on luggage duffel bag, obviously for a different purpose than carry-on), holds 3-4 handguns, is sturdy (preferably having a non-collapsible main pouch for boxed ammunition storage), and mimicks the Glock range bag. Price really isnt an issue.

It seems Im stuck to online shopping since I haven't found what I want at the Range/Gun Store I go to, nor have I had any luck at Academy or Sport's Authority. Since I can see, feel, and play with bags online, Im hopping some one can help me out.

Thanks!

Looking specifically for a Glock (naturally) 17.

I am looking for a good handgun for home defense, In the price range of $200-$400. The only preferences I have are for it to be a 9mm and for it to have a good safety (no Glock fin above the trigger stuff). I am not looking for somewhere to buy one online, simply a good model to get at a local gunshop.

I have narrowed down my options to: a Glock 20, a Taurus 92 with a 17 round mag in 9mm, a Taurus 24/7 oss in .45 acp, or a Taurus 809-9mm. I own a Glock 22 so if you can compare these pistols to it I would appreciate it. Pistol price is not a huge deal but I think all these are in the same range. Ammo price is also not a problem as I do not shoot much. The main use for this pistol will be target practice although I might take it hunting for a backup every now and then. Accuracy is of course very important to me as is reliability and long life.
I am talking about real guns that fire real bullets, make noise, and kill stuff. Not airsoft. I already have all the airsoft guns I ever want.
I am not looking for a hunting handgun (even though in Colorado I can legally hunt with my Glock 22). I just want a handgun that is reliable, accurate, and can have a lot of rounds go through it.

I am going to buy my first handgun but am not sure what to buy. I need to consider price, caliber, barrel length, weight, effective range, compellability and comfort.

The guns I have looked t so far are the 1911(felt great), hipoint .40, glock 22 and a .357 revolver. The 357 revolver was the only one I did not like the grip on.

I have used rifles and shot guns but never a handgun.

the calabers i am looking in to will be .22 (cheapest rounds) .40, .45 and .357

Im looking for a good carry pistol, and am curious what others have paid for used GLOCKs preferably anything bigger than a 9mm.
I am going to a gun show this weekend. I have a gunshop that will sell me a new GLOCK for 500 cash. What price range should sway me towards used versus new based on the 500 dollar quote?
I am in Memphis, TN.

I am looking to buy a handgun and I am leaning towards a glock, but I'm not sold yet. I want a gun for two main reasons:

1) personal target shooting- I like to shoot for fun. I don't need to win any competitions, but I like to go out back and shoot a little bit.
2) self defense- I am planning on getting my concealed permit so I would like something with some knock-down power and is concealable.

I'm a college student, so price is a concern of mine. I was leaning towards a Glock 23 or 27 b/c of the knock-down power of a .40 and the concealment factor, but I wanted some more opinions. Anything else I should consider? Otherwise, what should I go with, a 23 or 27?

I would just like information on Ohio rules about handguns. I will be 21 this september and I would like to purchase a glock 19, 9mm for strictly protection of my home and family. I want to go by the book and take the classes and get any papers I need to properly own a handgun. Can anyone recommend any good gun shops in the lakewood/cleveland area? Does anyone know the price of a new glock 19 model? What all classes/certifications do I need to own a handgun in Ohio? Any information will be helpful.
Also I talked to someone from the LEOSS that sells guns in Ohio and they said the price of a glock is "For a basic Glock you are looking at about $560 out the door for ever size & caliber except 45 and 10mm.". Does that amount sound right for a new Glock 19 9mm?
Also, can anyone confirm that you have to be 21 or older to purchase a gun in Ohio? Thanks.

I have looked around at a number of lasers with or without a tactical light and I just dont know which one to buy. I dont really want to spend over $200 bucks for the laser, but to get a quality one do I have to spend over half the price of the gun? Lasermax, Crimson Trace, Streamlight TLR2, or the GTL are just a few ive noticed. Any ideas or sugestions would be great, because I know nothing about handgun lasers. Thanks!

I recently had the pleasure of using a Sig Sauer 226 9mm pistol at a local range, and have been considering a handgun purchase for a while. I probably won't rush out a buy one, but I like to know what I might expect to pay. It looks like a new Sig will be around a thousand bucks, and that's probably out of my price range.

Does anyone know a decent place to look for this pistol used in Houston, TX? Are there better suggestions on a good pistol? I would be using the pistol for target-shooting, and keeping it at home for some amount of defense. I've tried several models of Glock and found the weight to be strange; I prefer the construction of the Sig that I used, but haven't really had too much experience with pistols.

I turn 21 in about a month and I am going to buy a 40 cal hand gun. I want a good, reliable, accurate, and durable handgun. A few guns that I have noticed and considered are S&W M&P, Beretta 90-two, Glock G22 or G23, Springfield XD, Walther P99, and a few Taurus models. I have read similiar answers and a lot of them reccomend HK or Sig. The reason I left them off the list is they are a little high priced but I havent ruled them out. I just want to know what everyone else thinks is the best gun for the money and is HK or Sig actually worth the extra $.

I was looking at buying a new handgun the other day and the store had Ruger P94 in the .40S&W for 287 used. Looked in good condition just the bore needed a good cleaning. I have tried looking for prices online and couldn't find any. Will someone tell me if this is a good price for this gun. This is in SS buy the way. They also have the Ruger P95 in 9mm Blued on sale for 317 brand new. Any input on this. This is my first handgun and have done a lot of research on these guns. So no "Go buy a Glock" responses. I need to stay in the $300 range. And was also looking at the S&W Sigmas with the $50 rebate and 2 free mags is hard to beat. But I dont like the DOA

My instructor for concealed handgun class highly recommended to use a 22 for concealed carry because its light and small. But ive heard a 22 is a really bad self defense weapon and i can see why but its still a gun. Ive also heard 22s can ricochet off of bones in the body causing more damage, is that true?

Im a big fan of .45s and would love to go with a Glock 30 or 36 but im kinda just looking for something small and kinda cheap to hold me off until i get enough money for a Glock.

If you would recommemed a 22, what one? Anyone know a cheap RELIABLE .45 that would be around the same price? ($300-$400) New or used, it doesnt matter.

I am looking to purchase a handgun (my first) for concealed carry, after taking a conceal carry class next month. I mainly want a caliber with a good balance between accuracy and power. My other considerations are easiness to locate ammo in that caliber, and price of the ammo. I am strongly considering the purchase of either a Glock or and H&K automatic, but need to decide what caliber. So any information regarding the pros and cons of different calibers (9mm vs. .358 for example) would be great.

Also, I am considering buying a revolver in several years. Would it be smart to have both my auto and my revolver in the same caliber? If so, how does that factor into choosing a caliber for my automatic?
Oops. That should be .357, shouldn't it.

I am a male in my late 20s. I plan to purchase a handgun in about a month, after completing a concealed carry training course. The gun will be primarily used for home defense and concealed carry, but I'm interested in spending time at the range with friends shooting targets for fun as well. I currently have very little handgun experience, although I own a shotgun that I use to shoot trap and hunt pheasant.

I want an ammunition with a good balance between accuracy and power. Easiness to locate ammunition type, and price of ammo are also concerns. I would like to purchase an automatic first (considering H&K or Glock), but I'd also like to purchase a revolver in the future. Would it make sense for them to be the same caliber?

I'm hoping for information regarding the pros and cons of different types of ammo, as well as recommendations based on personal experience.
To be more clear, I was looking for advice on type of ammunition, not brand of ammunition. For example 9mm vs. .357. Thanks!
I guess I mean best caliber ammunition. Also, why (or why not) would I want an automatic and a revolver in the same caliber, assuming I eventually purchase both type of handgun?

My local gun store is offering me a deal. I have about 250-300 dollars, and my choices are either a standard 9mm or a glock 23 for hanguns. However, the owner is trying to get rid of a pistol grip shotgun and has cut down the price to 300 for me. He tells me to jump on this deal, but I am wondering if it is worth it to get such a hefty tool compared to the easier-transportable handgun; but in a sense, this gun will most likely not leave my home. What do you guys think? Thanks :)

am a criminal justice student and will be going into some type of law enforcement career and I am looking for a handgun that would be similar to what I would use in the field. I’m a complete novice to handguns but from my own research I think I’ve narrowed it down to a 9mm or .40.

Price isn’t a real problem but I’m not looking for something anything ridiculous but something practical to my career path. I’m mostly looking for a gun just to get used to shooting and train on my own. I understand most dept. issue guns so I probably won’t get the exact gun but I’m just looking for something comparable.

Glock? Beretta? S&W? ...? And what caliber?

Someone I know is getting their first handgun, mainly for concealed carry. I know quite a bit about guns, however, my friend is fairly new to the industry. He wants a good, reliable, semi-automatic handgun for concealed carry that is under $400.00 dollars. Therefore, I recommended the Ruger P95 9mm pistol. He loves the Colt Government .45, Glock 22/23, and a couple of the Sigs. He has never been around Rugers and they are around his price range. Would you recommend the Ruger P95, chambered for 9x19mm Luger ammunition?

Thanks for your help.

I have recently taken up shooting for sport and found I really enjoyed shooting both the Glock 17 and S&W 619. I want to begin comparison shopping local gun shops for both firearms but don't have any frame of reference re: price aside from MSRP. What is a realistic, yet fair price to look for for each of these handguns? Thanks!

someone said you have to be 21 to purchase but you can own it when you're 18.wtf??? is that like cigarettes where you cant buy it until you're 18 but can carry and smoke when you're 17??

by the way, I'm considering on purchasing a glock 17 or 18, you know what the price range is on that? and you need a permit to even buy regardless of age? thanks in advance
i live in san francisco, california. btw.. im trying to get a concealed weapon permit/license
i've heard that the glock has a good clip length, fast firing, good strength, and doesnt jam easily. I don't really care for the firepower as long as it can kill i dont wanna blow craters like a desert eagle or magnums lol.

btw,.. wtf is up with buying a rifle at 18?? isnt that more dangerous than a handgun? yeah you can hide a handgun more but if u got a car, you can hide it.. it's a mass murder weapon in the wrong hands.

I want to know which is the best quality firearm. Feel free to submitt your opinions, however dont answer without back-up please. Include links backing up your thoughts and dont include links to other forums which are loaded with opinions. Offical articals and test reviews.

This battle has been going for a while. Glock owners out number H&K owners by 7 to 3 and this is mainly because of price. For the most part, the two companies own the handgun industry for self defence and all around real world use. We are not talking USP vs G20 here, I want to know which one makes the finest firearms. If you have never fired or had interaction with either one of these handguns do not answer please. Lets be mature about this if possible and honestly try to answer the question the best we can.

Which one is the king and why ? I choose the H&K but my remarks will not be made. I want to see the others and what they can come up with. Make it good !

Good Luck & Thank You for playing
Nice answer boker, thats fair.
Very interesting so far guys, but here is a loop in the fun. I personally opened a test company and Im glad to say I have been blessed with alot of customers. I too test these guns to the max. The same type shown in Uncles link (Very good BTW) and some other types testing. Im not sure of the numbers I looked up last week but I believe it to be 40+ Glocks that we have tested and we have yet to have one make it threw the Glock test ? I have however managed to get the Springfield XD and the HK P2000 to make the test without malfunction. Im not questioning this argument just introducing a new twist that may or may not make a difference.

Also I say Glock over HK owners because of price mainly because its a real world argument. Alot of people will see that Glock is a good gun and stop there because of the two or three hundred dollar price difference. Each and everyone of us do it.

So far everyone has valid points, thank you all for answering. Keep them comming please
All metal construction ? Are you talking about the same H&K's I am ?
Ok so what we have is basicly this:

1. Both Glock's & HK's are reliable.
2. Glocks hold more rounds and has the 10mm to over power the 45acp.
3. HK's have a better designed fit.
4. Most dont like the Glock trigger pull even the fans.
5. Some claim Glocks will always fire, others claim this is untrue.
6. Glocks have more aftermarket advances than the HK's
7. HK's are respected as better built than Glock's as far as over all quality.
8. HK's Cost alot more than a Glock
9. Glocks shoot more cup matchs than HK's while HK is consitered much more accurate.
10. If we were to have a shoot out while mud wrestling, the Glock is prefered.

I thank everyone who answered so far. Your input is greatly acknowleged. Anyone else ?
Then we have the ones whom feel they need to make up stories to get their opinions noticed as a nudge for their side. I will ignore that as I have said I didnt want USP vs G22 here.
My Thoughts:

I choose HK over Glock for many reasons. The biggest is the gun just feels so much better. The rest of my reasons have been listed in some of your answers. The HK is much more refined firearm. Craftsmanship is the ticket here in my opinion and I feel that Glock never comes close. Others do however and thus the reason for this question to begin with.

I have tested many firearms and yes I have dropped the gun into the sandtrap. As I said before I have never had a Glock make it threw the famous "Glock" test and I have had 2 others do it. One of the people who answered hit the nail on the head by saying if it was done right it would not have worked. We retested those same 2 (XD & P2000) and neither of them made it again ! I agree with him saying they are machines and they will malfuction period.
I have noticed this forum is littered with Glock fans and i figured this to be a runaway for the Glock. After noting the answers and the comments it seems that HK has won this particular round. Fear not Glock owners, I will be asking many of these type and the next few will be model vs model type questions.

I do feel that most of the world is lead astray by the Glock test and I feel that many of them claim the Glock to be a better firearm for this reason. Sure, just like cars some of us will get lemons to say. DJ showed links to Glocks that split and came apart. Others told us about their HK's doing the same thing. I think we can all agree that these 2 firearms lead the charge in the race. The issue is finding a winner. For this leg of the race the standings are as followed:

Glock: 0

HK: 1

I thank everyone for their input and I ask you to not stop answering the future questions about this subject that I will be showing. I am thankful for your help !

I kinda want to get a good laser sight for a handgun or a rifle. I want one on a 30.06 or .45 glock or .40 or 1911. I want a good one though. If you have one tell me how good they work and if it was worth the price.

im looking in to buying a good handgun for selfdefence. knowing glocks are very reliable.. i just was wondering what is a good price in buying a good conditioned glock..? i dont know much about guns and their price and i dont want to get ripped off... thanks

looking to buy my first handgun but not sure what to get. narrowed it down to either a .45 or .40 caliber. between a glock, sig, or hk. what do you guys think. what's the best handgun for the price?
