I have an uncle living in California who has owned a AR-15A2 Sporter II 9mm Carbine (R6420) since April of 1994, and due to California's AR15 laws, they require:
*A 10-round magazine
*Magazine lock (aka a "bullet button")
*Off-list stripped lower receiver.
I was wondering if this would apply to this rifle even if it does not fire the .223 round and instead shoots a 9mm.
Our particular rifle is/has:
*chambered in 9x19mm
*An unchanged magazine release (the magazine is still able to be detached w/o a bullet button tool)
*2 20-round magazines, and 1 32-round magazine. (All for 9mm)
*factory Colt 9mm stripped lower receiver
So far, this rifle has undergone no changes from when he purchased it 16 years ago. It does NOT have an off-list lower receiver, mag lock, or 10-round magazine. Since this rifle was purchased before the AR-15 ban, I was worried if is this rifle still legal.
If not, does anyone know where they sell off-list receivers? I checked with STAG ARMS, and they don't seem to have any 9mm lowers. I'm planning to sell the Colt lower, and the magazines, and I already know where to get the 10-rounder 9mm magazines and the magazine lock, but before I do, I still need to know if it is still legal.
Thanks for commenting! All relevant replies will be appreciated, and please answer soon!
Please don't tell me "Oh, but the 9mm carbine is for sale to law enforcement only." I completely understand this term of sale, and we purchased this long before Colt made it law enforcement-only.
JR & Chavo Guerrero Speak on Chavo's Unhappiness
Many fans have been disgruntled with the treatment of Chavo Guerrero on RAW over the past few months, having being made a fool of by almost all of the RAW guest hosts and in particular Hornswoggle.
One fan addressed this issue on Jim Ross' official Website via his Q&A section, asking if Guerrero had upset WWE management and saying it was hard to accept Eddie Guerrero's nephew "being reduced to this."
Ross said the following: "First of all it isn't fair to compare Chavo to Eddy. Secondly, Chavo seems happy to me as he is working steady and earning good money. Every one in WWE knows what Chavo can do but he is currently cast in a more unique role that is featuring comedy. There is something to be said of a personality having regular work and earning a living doing it."
Chavo Guerrero himself has also expressed his content at the way he is currently being used by WWE. "Do you guys realize that last week I was on The Soup, and the No. 1 searched video on Yahoo because of my feud with Hornswoggle," he said via his Twitter page.

RAW Screw-Up, Hogan Tells Andre The Giant Story, More
-- The Daily Telegraph in Australia interviewed Hulk Hogan today to promote his upcoming tour of the country. Hulk says that Andre the Giant was exactly 667 pounds the day of WrestleMania three when he bodyslammed him, and he knew this because Andre weighed in at the Detroit airport earlier that day. He said the bodyslam wasn’t planned in advance, and Andre told him if he thought he could do it, go for it. He also said he was attacked in Melbourne earlier this week by a guy who looked like a Hell’s Angel, but he took the guy down and hooked him and it was over quickly. You can read the full interview at DailyTelegraph.com.au.
-- Site reader Matt writes: "Lawler said twice during the opening match on RAW that this is the first time ever that DX will be in a Hell in a Cell together. Of course this could be forgivable if it wasn't moments after HHH talked about the last time DX beat Vince McMahon in the Hell in a Cell during his promo. And of course Michael Cole didn't notice either..."

Big Show Speaks on People Starting Fights & Big Men
WWE.com has an excerpt from an interview they did with Big Show for November's WWE Magazine.
One question that was asked, keeping in mind the recent backstage incident he was involved in,
"We can’t imagine anyone has ever picked a fight with you outside of the ring.
Actually, it’s the opposite. People try to fight me all the time. They’ll get some liquid courage flowing through their veins, and they’ll say they can take me. I’ll respond with, “Where? Out to dinner?” or something funny that diffuses the situation. I try to laugh it off. Someone might antagonize me, but it will never escalate."
When asked about the other big men in WWE, Big Show said the following:
"Mark Henry is one of the strongest people I have ever been in the ring with — he can tear your arms out of their sockets. And Kane is big and strong, too, but he’s a different kind of big. And Khali? Well, he’s just a tall guy who can do a lot of push-ups."

Big Matches on SmackDown, Report of John Cena on TV
Stephen sent the following: Monday night after RAW on The Score in Canada, they showed a clip of John Cena who was at a press conference for another show on the network called 'Drafted', which is like an American-Idol type show for sportscasters. The show is sponsored by Gillette, and I am guessing since, Gillette is doing a promotion with WWE, that's why Cena was there. Anyways, they had Cena do an "audition" calling sports highlights. Don't know if this was coincidence, or poking fun at Angelina Love, but when introducing himself to the judges, he joked, and I don't remember his exact words, but it was something along the lines of "I am illegally in Canada, but if I am selected, I will make sure my paperwork is sorted out."

in Texas? no reason, just wanted to know when i was looking at a colt 45. 1911 magazine at work
YO YO YO.
I've applied for a conceal and carry in January and while I wait on that to go through communist, NY's systems, I am wondering what handgun I would like to learn to master.
Background knowledge: NY restricts any removable magazine (clip) with a capacity greater than 10 rounds. *stupid law by the way*
I'm positive this law applies to non-permit carriers (people who master their liberties with long guns).
But will this restriction affect legal handgun owners. I would LOVE to master a glock 17 which can halter 17, even up to 33 rounds. FUN
If this moronic law still abides to handgun owners, I would rather stick with a colt 1911 of some kind.. which holds 9 rounds. ALSO FUN
If you know please tell.. if you don't let me know what options you might be interested in?
The Angels are No. 1 -- not only in baseball but in all of professional sports -- when it comes to giving fans what they want in a franchise, according to an ESPN the Magazine survey.
The magazine's annual survey ranked the Angels as the top team in baseball a year ago and this year placed them at the top of all 122 pro sports teams studied in terms of "paying fans back for their investment of time, money and passion," as an ESPN release said. Last year's No. 1 overall was the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.
The survey noted the Angels' fan-friendly promotions and ticket prices, and their string of chart-topping years in attendance. But of course it also took into account that manager Mike Scioscia's group on the field has won more games since 2004 than any club in baseball other than the Red Sox, making the playoffs four of the past five years.
"This honor means a great deal to our organization because it was voted on by the fans," Angels owner Arte Moreno said in an ESPN statement. "I am extremely proud of our staff for working day in and day out to provide what we call the 'Baseball Experience.' Their focus is always on our fans, which would include providing courteous service, affordable pricing, and a clean environment. And, of course, the baseball people work hard to put a winning team on the field!"
The survey, which the magazine says is driven by research and fan feedback, has been presented as "Ultimate Standings" since 2003. The conclusions are based on eight categories: Affordability, coaching, fan relations, ownership, players, stadium experience, "Title Track" (winning) and "Bang for the Buck" (winning during the previous three years).
The Brewers are the only other MLB team in the top 10, ranking seventh. The Angels ranked first among all pro teams in promotions, followed at No. 2 by the Royals. The Rays, who took one of the larger leaps to No. 16 overall, were ranked No. 1 overall among the 122 teams in affordability. No MLB clubs are in the bottom 10 overall
When i first saw this rifle i thought it looked awesome i saw videos it has a high rate of fire. Its magazine held 40 rounds and it may have had a smaller 4.73x33mm round rather than the 5.56x45mm but it fired '"Caseless Ammunition" sound like its also lighter. So my question is why did Germany stop testing the G11? and why did the U.S. stop its Research on the ACR (Advacned Combat Rifle) which is also a rifle that was going to fire the Caseless ammo called the Colt ACR. They was 4 ACR rifles being tested the AAI ACR, H&K ACR(G11), Steyr-Mannlitcher ACR and the Colt ACR.
I have narrowed my choices down to the CZ 75 Kadet, Beretta 87 Cheetah, and the Kimber Target. I have ordered the pistols from most likely to be bought and least likely. Number 1 is the Kimber Target. Number 2 is the CZ 75 Kadet and Last but not least is the Beretta 87 Cheetah. I have picked the order because things such as looks and price of the gun and magazines also the availability of accessoriess such as holsters and magazine holsters. I also want to purchase a Colt M4 Ops .22 tactical rimfire rifle. So i can have the perfect rifle/pistol tactical duo. I also picked the Beretta 87 Cheetah because it looks like the M9 but the bad thing is that the magazine capacity is only 8 and the magazine costs $50.00 were as i could buy two Kimber magazines, and the CZ is $35.00 which is in between. So if any one owns one of the or could help me to steer to the perfect .22 LR tactical pistol.
Thank you,
Aaron

No i am going to buy and i don't want want a luger style pistol i want a tactical .22 pistol
For those who have played the game, you know what I'm talking about. For those who haven't (or simple can't remember) here is the list of modifications:
-The feeding ramp has been polished to a mirror sheen, meaning no feeding problems.
-The slide has been replaced with a reinforced version.
-The frame has been iron-welded and scraped down multiple times for maximum precision. The front strap part of the frame has been checkered to prevent any slipping by digging into the hand.
-The sight system is a 3-dot type. It has an enlarged front sight, giving it superior target sighting capability.
-The normal hammer has been replaced with a ring hammer that enhances the cocking control and increases the hammer-down speed.
-The grip safety has been eliminated completely.
-The thumb safety and slide stop have been extended to allow for more precise handling.
-The base of the trigger guard is whittled down, so you can use a high grip.
-The trigger is a long type for easy finger access. The trigger pull is about 3.5 pounds, which is 1.5 pounds lighter than normal.
-The magazine well has been widened to make it easier to put in a new magazine. The magazine catch button has been cut down low to make it harder to hit it by mistake.
-The mainspring housing has been changed to a flat type to increase grip, and has even been fitted with stepping so it does not slip from the recoil when firing.
Thanks for any info.
My family owns a AR-15A2 Sporter II carbine in 9mm (also officially known as the Colt Model R6450) since 1994, and since California passed some sort of firearm act restricting telescoping stocks, flash hiders, 30 round magazines, and pistol grips, all of which our AR15A2 has.
Ever since California's ever-changing firearm policies, we have been scared to take it out of the house, since we were afraid that we might get arrested.
I've been wondering if a rifle purchased in 1994 can still be used as of now *legally*.
I'm looking at buying a 40SW or 10mm, even though ammo is more expensive for 10mm, I think I would prefer the 10mm over the 40SW. I'm looking for something that is accurate, and has hi cap magazines (preferably 15+). Right now I have an XD-9mm, and to be honest, Glock and Springfield are not my favorite guns (just a personal preference).
I used to have a Colt .357 that was an excellent gun, and in some ways I think I'm trying to replace it. I've not fired any automatics that are as accurate as the revolver, but I'm curious if others have had a different experience.
A .357 would be nice to own again, perhaps I should get a revolver.
This is not something I need... I don't need anything for protection (hopefully), and don't have any plans to carry.
how long can i keep my airsoft handgun and shotgun loaded without the springs in the magazine breaking? The guns are a colt MK IV and a S&W M3000

I would like to start a company making firearms, and I have a few ideas that are not on the market and would like to know if there is interest in them.
I would like to make bolt action rifles in .223 or .308 with the following features:

Integral Weaver scope mounts
Feeds from an AR15 or M1A (M14) magazines
Has AR15 style flip-up backup iron sights (BUIS)

Dual front sling swivels for both a sling and bipod
I want a weapon that would make a good law enforcement patrol rifle, sportsman's rifle, all purpose firearm. I will do my best to bring it in at a reasonable price, under $700 if I can, under $1000 will be a must.
So what do people think? Would you buy it? Is my estimated price too high for the features I mentioned?
I have other ideas I would like to try as well:
A Thompson Contender pistol upper capable of handling .460 S&W, 454 Casull, .45 Colt and 3 inch .410 Gauge with external muzzle threading for a muzzle break or external threaded choke tube (no wrench required), adjustable fiber optic iron sights AND weaver rail, for the ultimate survival handgun.
A modern high capacity, locked breach handgun in 7.62x25 Tokarev.
I would be thankful for any feedback on these ideas
I know there is a .45 Colt/.410 Gauge barrel for the Contender, I have one. There are two problems with it.
1) it will handle the high pressure .45 colt loads, but they are expensive and hard to find in stores.
2) you have to use a choke wrench to remove the choke
Since 454 casull is a easy cartridge to find now days, and is cheaper than the Buffalo Bore .45 Colt, and all three use the same rifling twist and the chamber is deep enough for a .410 you just need to make the barrel pressure rated for the .460 S&W. And with an external threaded barrel, you will not need a wrench to remove the choke, making the switch between shotgun and pistol faster, and if in a pinch you had to fire the shot shell with the choke off the gun, you will not damage the threads.
Let me just say:
I have been a life long shooter and sportsman. I have competed at Camp Perry in service rifle. I have served with the Army and local law enforcement. I have a masters degree and working on a PhD in metallurgical engineering, and have worked as a machinist and in fab shops.
These ideas are things that in my experience I would like to own, and am curious if there are other people who would like them or would like to add options or their own ideas. Please, I ask you nicely, don't use this question to just insult me.
does it work with any of the big companies mags like Tokyo Marui, Echo, Utg, Classic Army etc.?
sorry for the poor grammar in the title
its also known as the panther a17
does anyone know if a colt rifle m-4 or ar-15 m-16 magazine ,will fit in a ruger ranch rifle of the same caliber .223 or 5.56 . are they compatible ????
I hear good things about the FN FS2000. Kind of pricey though.
Also, does anyone have any experience with the new plastic or polymer magazines on the AR?
I am looking for Reliable and Tactical.
Any suggestions?
Do you really have to go with Colt to get good quality? DMPS is another brand, any major differences? I am not planning on going into combat with it and she will be maintained rigorously so.....
Also, chrome lined barrels. Are they really necessary if I have good maintenance?
I have asked quite a few questions, I know. I appreciate any help and oppinions I can get.
Thanks.
I've got a Para-Ordnance P-12 (Colt 1911-style pistol). Recently, I had been having some problems with random jamming. I picked up a couple of aftermarket magazines for it (USA Magazines), but the issue continued. Someone suggested new recoil springs which, while making the gun operate more smoothly, did not fix the jamming issue. Ultimately, the issue was the feed ramp; I had it polished, and the random jamming stopped. However, the aftermarket mags usually (>75%) jam on the last round. Careful examination of the situation shows that it is not actually a jam; the slide lock is being engaged by the magazine foot prematurely. The foot has a tab that locks the slide open when the magazine is empty, but it is supposed to engage AFTER the last round has chambered and the slide cycles again.
I know I should buy factory mags; finances were a factor ($30+ each vs $20 for 2). Has anyone had this issue, or know of a correction for it? I'm not looking for "buy factory mags" answers; that goes without saying.
Is it the M-16 still ? And are they still using the ones manufactured by colt ? Also if I am not mistaken they use 30 round magazines for their weapons. On any given mission . How many loaded magazines do they carry with them ? Do they carry a side arm ? What kind ? Thanks for your replies
I own the above mentioned gun: Colt .45 Officer's 1911 Mk. IV. The standard mag is six round. I see on some websites they have 7 round mags for sale for the Officer's .45. Is this right? I don't have the gun in front of me since I'm at work but is there enough room for 7 rounds somehow? I am thinking maybe if the spring inside the mag was altered...I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated.
i have been collecting WW2 101st paratrooper gear for about 2 years now and have got almost all my gear together accept for a weapon. i lost intrest for about a year because i couldnt get the money together to buy a deactivated thompson or colt because bb or airsoft guns are illegal in aus and because i couldnt find any reenactment groups. but seeing my gear has now made me feel like all that money would have gone to waste if i dont do something with it.
so if anybody knows of a reenactment group or a group of people of friends who collect and do their ouw reenactments could you please tell me.

Currently I have purchased a Colt Commando airsoft rifle and am using medcap 20 round vietnam style mags i was wondering if i shouldnt tape them together... i currently have 9 magazines and my pouch only holds 7 and i put one in the gun so i kinda have to tape them so im wondering if i run the risk of ruining them...
im sorry they are the 20 round Vietnam stylew magazines which hold 120 rounds.
Im a Dallas fan, but who on Earth said they were going undefeated? I actualy think they will lose 4 more times this season to be honest. I also picked the Saints to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, not Dallas. Were there magazines or internet articles stating they would go 16-0? I also understand people hate the team. I read everyday how "Dallas sucks, Dallas is overated". Well, if they suck and are overated, why is everyone acting suprised that they lost? Did Pittsburgh, Washington, San Fran or Colts ever win a Super Bowl with an undefeated year? Does that mean those teams suck and were overated then as well? Why is everyone so shocked?
to the person who said Im not a Dallas fan......Ok, so keeping it real is not what your supposed to do? Your supposed to think your team will go to the SB yearly? So Rams fans should expect nothing less then a SB win this year or they arent real Ram fans? I also said Dallas would lose to the Giants last year in the playoffs. They did. Does that make me not a Dallas fan also? If that does, I apologize for being 100% real and not fake. Real fans tell it how it is.
i recently purchased a colt MK IV series 80 air soft pistol made by panther arms
i was out playing with some friends and when i went to reload i realized i did not have a clip any longer i searched and could not find it
any one know where another clip can be purchased?
Also tried all the major gun and magazine distrubors any advice and help woud be truly appreciated.
Hey there. I'm writing a book in which people who don't really know what they're doing are handling handguns, and - as handguns are banned in the UK - I'm hoping someone in the US can help me out with some info.
Basically, my questions are:
- how big would a magazine be for a medium to large-sized semi-automatic?
- how low would it take to remove bullets from a magazine and load them into a revolver?
- would the revolver have any problem firing these bullets? If they were a .45 caliber for example, would you need a .45 revolver to accommodate them?
- if you were a complete handgun novice, would you be able to tell that a certain gun was a Glock, or a Colt, or whatever? i.e. do they have their brand names on them somewhere, or something that indicates the size of cartridge they take?
Thanks in advance for your help with this!
How would you compare it to, say, a Colt M1911A1? Personally I don't see much of a difference between them, except that the Jericho has a larger magazine capacity. Even a gun like the CZ-75 looks like an all around better purchase than the 1911. Am I missing something? Is it simply because the 1911 is more popular that it's chosen more often? Is it a matter of personal taste?
I am took my Colt Defender to the range today and fired 1 round, after that things got ugly. The gun jammed, I took it apart and found the recoil spring cap had broken off. I called Colt, brownells, and several other companies and no one seems to have it or know what I am talking about. Can anyone help me out on where to find one ? Can someone share there experiences with the Colt Defender ? I also had some magazine feeding problems, any recommendations ? Are the parts interchangeable with the Colt Officer? Sorry for all the questions, but when I mention "Colt Defender" no one seems to know what I am talking about.
If you were in battle fighting for your life would it matter much if your weapon was an AR-15 instead of an M-16?
For those that don't know, an AR-15 was initially manufactured from Colt who also makes the M-16. Many parts of the AR-15 are interchangable with an M-16. The M-16 has a selector switch allowing single, full auto and three shot burst. If you are isolated from your supply you will have limited ammunition which you are carrying on your back. Using full auto will deplete your ammo in a fraction of the time than using single shot mode. Are you seriously going to use full auto at a rate of 1200 rounds per minute with a few hundred rounds you are carrying? There is a philosophy on handguns that if you got six shots you make them count but if you have a large magazine you are not concerned as much about each shot because you can keep pulling the trigger as a result having a much higher miss ratio
So would it really matter to you if you had an AR-15 or an M-16?
I'm a United States Marine going to Iraq soon, and I'm looking for recommendations as to the best pistol to take as a side arm. Cost, reliability, accuracy, stopping power, and magazine size are all factors. I'm leaning towards a Glock .45 or a Colt 1911 but I'm undecided. The polymer frame of the glock makes it feel flimsy and the I've heard terrible things about the Colt 1911.
I appreciate all the responses! Typically we aren't allowed personal weapons, but if we can prove to the commander that allowing us one would be beneficial (exceptional shooting record, participation in competition shooting) we might be allowed one. As it stands I'm not going to be issued a pistol which is why I'm considering buy one.
I've heard too little about the stopping power of the 9mm so that doesn't sound practical. If I'm need to whip out my side arm the s**t is hitting the fan so I need to make sure the thing is going to put holes in people quickly.
Thanks for all the support! Semper Fidelis
(1) If a company sells double stacked magazines for 1911 pistols, is that still a real 1911 design or is it another kind of gun since 1911 pistols were originally designed single stacked?
(2) Are there any double action and double stacked 1911 (.45) pistols out there? (any links would be helpful)
(3) What are the best 1911 (.45) brands and models available today? (I'm leaning toward Kimber but some say Colt Gold Cup is better)
I'm just beginning practice shooting a pistol. Right now I'm using a Colt Huntsman .22 semi-automatic. I would like to know the correct names for the parts. I know chamber, slide, trigger, safety. There are two sights on the pistol: What are they called (front and rear)? I now know (after being corrected) that it is not a clip but a magazine. I've searched for sites but find nothing showing pictures with the names. I'm not planning to hunt but will be taking a pistol class in two weeks. Thanks
The vote was based on Players, Owners, Championships, Win-Loss Ratio, and some other stuff i can't think of.

my horse was being transported when he was just a foal, and his past owners had tied a rope around his neck and knocked him out, not once, but twice. i was reading in Equus magazine an article. my horse is believed to have "moon blindness". he has a LOT of trouble seeing at night. we spoke to his vet, and he believes that my colt may have cataracts. in Equus they state that Appaloosa's have a more persistent uveitis. they say its not as painful, and it doesnt inflame as much. also, there is less tearing.. all of these symptoms explain my horses symptoms. is there a possibility that my colt has ERU?
How much would it cost and is it possible to still find an AMT Hardballer with these modifications? I'm also interested in magnum ammo. Do they make FMJ-HP magnum ammo for a .45 pistol?
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY.
Yes, for the record I actually meant an M1911A1.
Now that we've got that established, is there such a thing as a "full metal jacketed hollow point" .45 Super? Lastly, how would I get a longslide for the semi auto pistol? Thanks.
